Via hakank.blogg to an article in the Independent about a conference in Greece on mathematics and the narrative, where we learn that card-recognition tricks are based on de Bruijn sequences and that David Foster Wallace's book Everything and More has "86 really egregious errors." Can't wait for winter to start blogging maths again.

For some reason, I cannot help but cheer on Australians doing well, especially when they write songs as catchy as Scar. JJJ and KCRW discovered her, and today's Sounds Eclectic has her playing live: Missy Higgins (with videos and songs), and also on iTunes.
